It's those damn drones, I think, winding my way through this wrecked city with nothing more than a rifle and a stopwatch counting down my final moments of life. The drones are a distraction; so much visual rhetoric cluttering up my sightline.

After beginning my novel "Desmond" on the website here in 2014, I then moved it my Minds.com account in 2016, where it has run to the 16th Chapter so far. I hope to finish the book sometime between now and some definite and precise point in the future.

Desmond isn't the same anymore...
One fateful morning the amateur scientist Desmond Roberts, using mysteriously advanced equipment acquired through equally mysterious sources, had conducted an experiment unlike any the world has ever seen. With the help of his wife Wendy, he had attempted to create a portal to another dimension, and pass through it, himself. The experiment had gone wrong, there was a terrible explosion, and now Desmond was damaged beyond repair. The experiment had failed. Hadn't it? |
